In Hong Kong, Robert has served as a speech contest judge and has a growing reputation as a coach of speech contest winners.

At Woosong University in Daejeon, South Korea (see Teaching Experience: University Professor). Robert taught a special project class in which his students made a TV commercial that won a prize in a university competition.

Nagoya Meito High School, where Robert was a teacher, specialized in English and was famous for its student Speech Contest.  It also has a reputation for sending strong competitors to student English speech contests held throughout Japan.  While Robert was Speech Coach, Meito's speech teams were extremely successful in regional and national competitions.

Robert continued to develop this technique at Nanzan University, where he expanded the method to include creation of elaborate class drama projects.  These incorporated both student versions of the movies or TV shows and original scripts, created by the students.  (See under Teaching Experience: University Professor)  (Also see Teaching Experience:  Writing).  These were presented to the other members of the faculty and the public and were quite popular.  

At Aichi Prefectural University, Robert developed a method of teaching English wherein the students watched DVD's of movies and TV shows in English and then he provided the scripts and the students acted scenes in teams.
