At Woosong, Robert also taught a special TOEFL training camp for Japanese exchange students from Kanda University of International Studies.

He was able to continue his consulting work for Changan Ford by e-mail and conference calls, so he moved to Korea.
There is a huge emphasis on the TOEIC test in Korea because many international companies use the score as a basis for hiring.
At Woosong, Robert became the TOEIC test preparation specialist and gave training to the other professors. (See Qualifications: Academic Publications and Professional Presentations)
At Stilwell, he focused on the TOEFL and SAT tests and developed a teacher education program to help Stilwell teachers raise student’s test scores. (See Qualifications: Academic Publications and Professional Presentations).
While Robert was teaching at Owen, he was recruited by a school that specialized in preparation for study in the US, the Stilwell Foreign Language School.
From 2012 to 2013, Robert lived in Chongqing China and was a Marketing and PR consultant for Changan Ford (see Experience: English Training for Business, Presentation and Speech Coaching), (also see the Robert Badal Consulting website.) In Chongqing, he taught children at the Owen Foreign Language School (see Teaching Experience: English for Kids). The Owen school had a study abroad program and Robert became one of the top teachers for IELTS, SAT, and TOEFL preparation, with a particular emphasis on preparation for the TOELF Speaking Test.

At OSULA, Robert helped to design a curriculum for Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Korean, and South American middle and high school, and university students coming to study in the US.
As a university professor at Nanzan University, (see Teaching Experience: University Professor) Robert served on the Entrance Exam Committee composing questions for the exam and then grading student's tests. He also coached students transferring to foreign universities in the TOEFL.
During the same period he was teaching for The Toyota Central R & D Lab, Robert was recruited to coach executives from Mitsubishi UFJ Bank who were planning to take the GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test) in order to enroll in American MBA programs.
While living in Japan from 2004 to 20012, Robert worked part time at the Toyota Central R & D Lab (see underExperience, English Training for Business, Technical English). The Toyota Motor Corporation places a high emphasis on TOEIC scores as a prerequisite for managerial promotion.
As a full time teacher at Meito High School in Nagoya Japan, (see Teaching Experience: High School), Robert coached students planning to study abroad and again taught TOEFL test preparation.
From 2002 to 2004, as an Adult ESL instructor for the Los Angeles School District, he raised English test scores 20% higher than the District average (see Teaching Experience: English Conversation and Pronunciation).
While in Japan, Robert’s abilities as a writing instructor and test preparation specialist came to the attention of the Office of the Korean Consul General, who recruited him for a program in which he prepared Korean students in Japan for study in the US.
This was comprehensive, starting with the application process for universities including Harvard, U Penn, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, Cal Berkeley, Northwestern, the University of Chicago, and other top American universities.
This not only included intensive counseling about admission policies and application strategies, but also writing instruction, and test preparation in both the SAT and TOEFL test. (see Teaching Experience: Writing Instruction).
In “before and after” tests of OSULA students, Robert's students scored significantly higher on tests than those of other teachers.

While teaching at night for Los Angles Unified School District, he also taught at the Los Angeles campus of Osaka Sangyo University (OSULA).

Robert is a friendly teacher. I am a happy when I see him to improve my English. He teaches me English in a new way. He helps me relax and have less pressure in his lesson. He has has a lot of teaching experience and understands how to be effective with each student's situation. He pays attention to his student and his or her situation and adjusts his lessons to suit them. I can easily focus on his lesson. His lessons are interesting and comfortable. Robert's Discussion and ESL Advanced Listening classes at Nanzan University was one were two of the most popular and highly rated classes. Robert did extensive classroom-based research on improving listening skills that he published in the Nanzan University Journal as "The Schema of Listening" (seeQualifications: Academic Publications and Presentations).
